Dish Network users usually get their programming from two specific orbital locations, the 110W, and the 119W. While most of the users have no issues getting their programming on their receiver, sometimes the users may face unexpected issues due to various reasons.
One of the issues that have been reported by Dish users is seeing the error message, “Your receiver is currently tuned to Orbital 61.5.” Sometimes the error message does not appear in the form of an error and it simply tells the user that they have tuned to a different orbital. For example, a few users have experienced seeing the message “Congratulations you are looking at the 61.5 orbital location.”
Your Receiver Is Currently Tuned To Orbital 61.5
While this is not something unusual or unexpected for the Dish Network users as the Orbital 61.5 is designated as a spare satellite to the 110 W and the 119 W orbital locations, it does lead to some performance issues. Sometimes the users may not be able to watch any live TV.
Some users have reported only being able to watch the pre-recorded programs on their DVR. They were not able to watch any new programming at all. If you are experiencing the error message “your receiver is currently tuned to Orbital 61.5” and you are not able to watch live TV or any new programming, here are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Everything is Fine With Your Dish
The first thing that you will need to do is to check that everything is fine with your satellite dish. There is a possibility that your satellite dish antenna may have changed its position due to someone moving it. Or it may have changed its position or fallen due to strong winds or rain. In such a situation, you will need to place the satellite dish antenna in its previous position. Once you have done that, check if you can watch live TV again.
Hard Reset Your Receiver
Sometimes, unexpected bugs or unusual circumstances can cause the receiver to stop getting a transmission from one particular satellite and it may choose to get it from another satellite. So one of the things that you can try to resolve the issue is to hard reset your receiver. You can do that by pressing the power button for at least 10 seconds and then releasing it. Alternatively, you can pull the power plug of the receiver and then wait for at least 10 seconds before inserting the plug back in. Once you have done the hard reset, check to see if the issue is resolved.

Let them know the issue and they will help you get the right settings so that you can switch back to the primary satellites and watch your favorite programs.
