First up, we have to say well done on going with T-Mobile for your telecommunications needs. Though we’re not affiliated with any of the companies we write about here, we do still have favourites – and we will occasionally voice that!
Overall, we find them reliable, cheap, and dynamic enough to be right up there with the best out there.
That being said, we have noticed that a few of their new customers have taken to the boards and forums recently to express their confusion over the status of their orders. Essentially, a lot of people are placing orders, then not really being sure what is happening from then on out.
Granted, it is a strange time to introduce a bit of mystery into the proceedings, but here we are. So, if you have also found yourself wondering what exactly is going on with your order, you have come to the right place. Here’s everything you need to know about it!
What Is The Status Of Your Order?
The thing about order statuses is that they will be different for everyone. Due to the fact that processing times can vary massively depending on what kind of card is used, and from what bank. Some banks will have authorisation times that far exceed others, so there can actually be a huge gulf in the difference at times.
To throw out an average duration for this to go through, two days is right around what we would consider ‘normal’. Of course, this doesn’t mean that there’s any cause for alarm if it runs over by a day or two.
There are a few things that can causse this process to be further drawn out, however. For example, if you happen to have changed your card in the last while (perhaps the last one was expired or maybe lost), this will have an effect on the configuration – even if the card is attached to the same financial institution that the last one was.
Another thing to note is that if you change the card on site, the old one will instantly be deemed to be null and void. This can cause a hold up too if you’re not careful.
So, to put a fine point on it, it is best to be a little vague and say that it will take a few days. The good news is that T-Mobile will always send you a notification of some sort to confirm that they have processed the order and shipped it accordingly.
The maximum time that it should take to get to this point is around four days, excluding weekend days. You may have noticed however that the T-Mobile website will give you an estimated arrival date for your order, and these are generally correct – sometimes even padded out a little.
So, don’t completely rule out the possibility that you’ll get your order quicker than you may have anticipated.
All of that being said, if you want to take control of things and find out exactly what is going on behind the scenes, here’s how to go about it!
T-Mobile Order Status Being Processed
- Check the order on the T-Mobile website
If you really want to clarify things once and for all, we would first recommend that you go and check the order status via the T-Mobile website. Once you have logged into your account, you will be able to find information on how far through processing your order is.
Once logged in, all you need to do is click into the shop link and then go into the ‘order status’ option. Unfortunately, from here you will then need to input your ZIP code and order number, which we admit is a little more awkward than it probably should be. However, this will get you the information that you have been looking for.
- Check the USPS tracking website
Another way to check where your order is at is to simply head to the USPS tracking website and type in the tracking number that T-Mobile will have given to you when they sent out your order.
If it is buried deep in your emails, you’ll be able to find it easier by looking for the confirmation of purchase email that they sent out. So, just type that number into the tracking website, then click on the ‘find’ button.
On top of telling you where the order is right now, it will also give you a step-by-step rundown of where it has been too!
- Check the UPS shipment
For those of you who’s order was shipped through UPS and not the USPS, the process is nearly the same – though there are a few small differences. In this case, you will need to go to the UPS website, then hit the ‘track packages and freight’ option.
From here, you should then specifically select the ‘track by reference’ button on the left-hand side. Once you have done that, you will then need to enter the T-Mobile phone number after you have clicked on the package button.
Once you have done all of that, all that remains is to click on the track button. You’ll then see exactly where the package is right at that moment.
The Last Word
So, as you can see, there really isn’t any cause for concern if the status of your T-Mobile order seems to be stuck on ‘processing’. This will just mean that the card is being authorised, at which point they will ship the order almost immediately. Of course, you can always check where it’s at by using the options above.
