1) Check your internet connection
To start with, you need to make sure that you have an active internet connection. Try opening some other website that you have used before in a new tab, and if it works fine, you are good to go. Not having an active internet connection can cause you to have the error sometimes.
2) Check internet speed
The most common reason for you to get this error is your internet speed. If you are being redirected way too many times over the webpage and it shows you the error, it means that your internet speed might be low. So, you need to run a speed test to check your internet speed.
Terminating or pausing any streaming or downloading applications might also work for you so it is worth giving a shot.
3) Check your Wi-Fi connection
Make sure that you are connected to the router and the right network by Mediacom if you are trying to access the portal. 4) Disable VPN
If you are using any VPN application, the control panel will not open for you. The IP is masked by using a VPN and since the control panel is only accessible on the Mediacom network, you can see the error on your screen. Make sure that there is no VPN enabled while trying to connect and you will have nothing to be worried about.
5) Restart the router
Since the settings panel is directly connected to the router, there might be some error or bug that can deny the connection or take too long to respond. To have this issue fixed, once you have tried all the above options, you will need to restart your router. Once you have restarted efficiently, connect to the internet again, and try accessing the portal. The problem will be solved for you most of the time.
6) Contact Mediacom support
After you have tried all the above troubleshooting steps and you are still not able to access the control panel, you will need to contact media support to confirm if there is an outage or some technical problem at their end. They will be able to effectively help you with the problem.
