These modems and Wi-Fi routers also have LED indicators on them that allow you to see the right status of your communication equipment and the connection. If you are seeing the internet light off on your modem, here is what it would mean.
Windstream Modem Internet Light Not On: The Reason?
The reason for this is pretty plain and simple and you don’t need to go any lengths to have this diagnosed. If the Internet light is not On, that would mean your modem is not getting any connectivity from the line. The line may or may not be connected, but the modem will not be able to establish a connection with the internet.
These modems have a smart interface of their own so they can know if the internet connectivity is working right or not. If you are looking at the internet light and it is not On, here is what you will need to do to get it fixed.
1) Restart Modem
Your Windstream modem can develop any error or bug that can cause you to have this issue. If you are facing this issue for the first time and you see no apparent reason for it, you should restart your modem once to make it work for you. This is going to fix it optimally for you and you will not have to face any sort of issue like this again after running the power cycle on your Windstream Modem.
2) Check the Input Connector
The first thing that you should check after restarting if your modem’s internet light is off is to check on the input connector. Your input connector should be plugged in correctly and not hanging loose. If there are any sorts of issues with the connectivity, you will not be able to make it work.
So, unplug the connector and inspect it for any signs of wear & tear or some corrosion on the metallic part of it. After that, you can plug it back in properly and restart your modem once.
