Verizon Roadside Assistance Review

This is the special service designed by Verizon which has been designed for the car users for assistance. They offer a wide range of car services, ranging from towing to battery charging. The Roadside Assistance is available In Canada, United States, and Puerto Rico. As far as the car eligibility is concerned, it is available for personal as well as rented cards.

On the other hand, you can use either your friend’s phone or your own to call for the services. The only point to keep in mind is that you need to be at the location where you need the service and call from the same location. In case you have enrolled for the line, it will cost only $5 for the entire month. On the other hand, if you are using an unregistered mobile or the registered phone is not available at the location, you will need to pay $89.95 (a whopping difference!).

When it comes down to the services offered by Verizon through the Roadside Assistance, you can get the car’s battery charged, towing for around ten miles, the transit of three gallons of fuel, winching, removal, and replacement of the flat tire. Keep in mind that these services are added to the Roadside Assistance without any additional charges.

In case you are concerned about the registration, you need to register the device to gain access to the Roadside Assistance. Some people wonder if someone has lent the car and they need the Roadside Assistance; is that possible? So, the service is available if the device number and name are confirmed and if the registered device is available at the servicing location.

When you first sign up for Roadside Assistance, the coverage is initiated after 48 hours. On the other hand, if you need the service earlier than 48 hours, you will be charged the full cost of $89.95. As far as the service limits are concerned, you can only have access to four claims in one year without additional costs. However, there is variation in commercial rates, so do check that before signing up.

Many users are concerned about how many cars they can use with one registration. So, whichever device you have enrolled can be used with one car at a time. However, Roadside Assistance is not eligible for boats, trailers, RVs, vehicles with two and four axles/wheels. In addition, it’s not suitable for emergency vehicles and limousines.

For signing up for the Roadside Assistance, all you need to do is dial 1-87-Roadside and sign. In case when you are requesting the Roadside Assistance, you will need to share the vehicle type (inclusive of color and model) and location. If the service needed is exceeding the limits of offered services, you will need to pay additional costs.

The best thing about Roadside Assistance is that it has a confirmation text alert that shares information whenever the service is dispatched. The text alerts are sent to the registered phone number (you can share the alternate phone number). In the text alerts, you will receive the name of the servicing company, phone number of the company, and ETA of the service arrival.

On top of everything, Roadside Assistance by Verizon has designed the Android as well as the iOS app. With the app, you can register the car and sign for the services. However, you can only sign up on Android phones. All in all, the rescue status tracking feature will help keep an eye on the servicing car.

The Bottom Line

If we are being honest, Verizon Roadside Assistance is one of the most reliable and effective services for people who need help while they are stranded on the road. However, there are some car model limitations and mobile registration issues to keep in mind.

  1. I have used the roadside service several times over the past several years and have not had much trouble but today my car broke down and we had to wait 5 hours and 20 minutes for a tow truck, I ended up having to call them 6 different times, if you don’t have the drivers dont accept the call, this was ridiculous and they should have taken some of the cost off but they didn’t want to do that either, if I ever have to use this again I will definitely tell them I dont want this company
