Roku Amazon Prime Subtitles:
How to enable/disable
To start with, you will need to press the home button on your Roku remote. Once you are on the homepage, you need to navigate to settings and go to Accessibility. In accessibility menu, you will get the option to choose caption mode. There are three options on the caption mode, that are Off, On Always, or On Replay.
These settings are universal for all the captions and applications. That means if you have set a preferred option here for the captions, it will be applicable to all the streaming applications such as Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Once you have activated the captions from settings, you will now need to stream the video. While you are streaming, you just need to press down button on the remote and it will bring up the window for captions. You can choose Caption Mode that says always on. The menu will also show up the available captions and subtitles on the video that you can choose from. The language options for subtitles will depend upon the video publisher as they will upload the number of options available for you to stream.
Subtitles not coming up
Subtitles may or may not be available from the videos depending on the content you are watching and the original content creator. Roku does not provide any service for subtitles so you if you are not seeing any subtitles there might be a chance that the subtitles are not available and published for this video. You need to check on some other application or with the content creator if there are any subtitles that you can use to stream any such videos.
Like other players that allow you to download a subtitles pack and install that in your Android or iOS player, that option is not available on Roku. You cannot possibly install any such subtitles pack into the amazon prime application on Roku. So, if you think that you are not able to see the subtitles due to any error and the original video on the Amazon prime has subtitles added, you will need to contact support and they will be able to assist you with the details.
