Xfinity remote comes with a wide array of features and functions. While most of the functions of the remote are easy to use and the users can always check the users’ manual to get information on anything they find confusing, there is one area where many don’t have any clue. This is the light indicators on the Xfinity remote.
The users are often confused between the red and green light that blinks on various occasions. If you are one of those users who are trying to figure out as to when and why the green light appears and blinks on your Xfinity Remote, here is everything that you need to know.
Xfinity Remote Green Light
1. Green Light When Pairing an Xfinity Remote
The green light usually appears when you are pairing an Xfinity remote to another device. If you want to pair your remote to another device, the first thing that you need to do is to make sure that the remote has batteries installed and the TV, as well as the BOX, are powered on. After that, set the input of your TV to the input that is connected to your Xfinity box.
Now you will need to press the Setup button on the remote until the LED light located at the top of the remote changes from a red color to green color. Now press the Xfinity button on your remote. This is when the LED will start blinking green. You will need to enter the three-digit pairing code. Once that code has been entered correctly, the Xfinity remote will be paired with the TV box.
2. Green Light As Battery Indicator
Many of the users are confused as to how they can see the battery level of their Xfinity remote. While it is possible to use the Xfinity Voice Remote to see the battery life on the TV screen, sometimes it may not be possible due to one or more reasons. In such cases, the users can see the battery level through the battery indicator on the remote. To do that, first, you have to press the setup button on the remote until you see the LED light at the top of the remote change from a red color to green color.
Once the light has changed its color, press 9-9-9. Now the LED light will blink and give an indication of the battery level. If the LED blinks 4 times in green color, it indicates that the battery power is excellent. Similarly, if the LED blinks 3 times in green color, it indicates that the battery power is good. If the LED blinks 2 times in red, it indicates that the battery power is low.
If the LED blinks once in red color, it indicates that the battery power is very low and you need to replace the batteries. Lastly, if the remote is about to die, the LED light will blink five times in red color whenever you will press a button. This is an indication that the battery is about to die and you need to replace the battery as soon as possible.
