TP-Link doesn’t need an introduction when it comes down to the internet industry. This is because the brand has launched an exceptional range of routers and modems to meet the internet connectivity needs of the users. In the past few years, the company has launched powerline adapters that allow users to extend the wireless network in an efficient and easier manner. The powerline adapters are incredibly affordable and don’t require users to install extra cables. However, one needs access to the settings to adjust the features. So, let’s see how you can access the settings!
How To Access TP-Link Powerline Settings – 2 Methods
The powerline adapter by TP-Link is one of the best you can find on the market. However, one needs to ensure proper settings to yield promising results, which is why we are sharing instructions on accessing the settings. The settings can be accessed through the web-based management page. This management page is actually an in-built internal web service and you can access it without an internet connection. However, you need to connect the device to the TP-Link adapter.
Before we share the instructions to access the settings, keep in mind that the outdated web browser version may result in incompatibility with the device’s management page. For instance, you won’t be able to sign in to the interface and not all features will appear on the display. So, just update the web browser and start the login process.
Method One – Access Settings Through Web Browser
Using the web browser is the first method that you can try to access the settings, and in the section below, we are sharing how to use the internet browser;
- Connect the powerline adapter to the device through a wireless connection and look for the Wi-Fi information card (it will be available in the package and you will find the account credentials)
- Open the internet browser and type tplinkplc.net in the URL bar and hit the enter button. As a result, the management interface will open. As far as the internet browsers are concerned, you can use Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Safari without any errors
- When the management interface appears on the screen, enter the default credentials and hit the login button
- Once you signed in, you will be able to access the setting
Method Two – Access Settings Through tpPLC Utility
If you are unable to access the settings through the web browser, you can also leverage the tpPLC utility to access the settings. For this purpose, you need to follow the below-mentioned instructions;
- Open the utility on your system
- Move to the powerline adapter and hit the “web” icon
- Now, add the account credentials to log in
- When you are logged into the utility, you will be able to access the settings from the on-screen menu
These are the two methods you can try to sign in to the web interface and access the settings. However, if you are unable to sign in, make sure you have an active internet connection (it’s not mandatory but it speeds up the system).
