Arris TG862 is essentially a DOCSIS 3.0 Wi-Fi router that is mostly used for residential purposes and is mostly given out to the Xfinity customers as a part of their subscription plan. The Wi-Fi router works out pretty great and will give you an overall immersive experience with it. However, there are some things that you need to know if your Wi-Fi light on the router is blinking and how you can fix it.

What Does it Mean?
The Wi-Fi light should be stable green if the Router is able to send out the Wi-Fi signals and establish a network. So, if you are seeing the light is flashing green and blinking, that means the Wi-Fi network is not fully enabled but it is in the process of getting started. It should be fine as it doesn’t take long and it should be up in less than a minute after you plug in your Wi-Fi router and optimize the settings. However, if the light is going on longer than that, you need to have it fixed, and here is how you can do it.
1. Restart the Router
The most basic troubleshooting step that you can try in this case is to restart the router to ensure that it reboots all the components and then you will be able to establish the Wi-Fi connection without any issues. So, simply plug it out of the power chord or you can press the power button at the back of your router.
This can take a few moments and all the lights on your router will be turned off after you have pressed the button on it. Now, once the router is off, plug it back in or press the button once again to turn it back on. The lights will blink and your router will be able to work again in a few moments with the Wi-Fi light stable as well.
2. Reset the Router
Another thing that might be messing with your Wi-Fi and making it not work optimally as you want it to can be the settings on your router. It can also develop some bugs or errors and that will cause interruption with your Wi-Fi network. However, it can be fixed easily enough by resetting the router to its default settings. With Arris TG862, you have a button at the back of your router that will have a reset written on it.
You need to keep that button pressed for around 10-15 seconds until all the lights on your router start blinking. Now, the firmware will also be updated if needed and the router will be reset to its default settings. Let it do its job and after a few minutes, you will be able to get the solid green light on your Wi-Fi and it will work without any errors or interruptions that you were having earlier with the Wi-Fi network setup on it.
If it is still not working after all that, you might need to take your router for a proper diagnosis as there are several hardware factors that can cause this issue.
