Over the course of time, Linksys has gained a positive reputation which is the prime reason that people always prefer their routers. On the other hand, some Linksys users have been struggling with Linksys RE6700 orange light on the router and they don’t know how this issue can be fixed. So, in this article, we are sharing everything you need to know!
Orange Light On Linksys RE6700 Router – What Is It About?
Okay, there are two types of orange lights when it comes down to the Linksys routers. First of all, if the light is orange at the front, it’s only about power on. However, if the orange light is blinking, it means that the firmware is corrupted or is not working properly. In the section below, we have some methods through which you can fix the orange light issue!
1. Power Cycling
First of all, you should try fixing this orange light issue with the power cycle. This is because it’s the easiest way of fixing the issues. For power cycling, you need to take out the power cord from the router, along with the other cables if any. Once all these cables are out, let the router rest for around one minute and start plugging in the cords again.
2. Secure Easy Setup
This is the setup and feature in your Linksys router, and if it’s not working properly, it will result in the orange light issue. In this case, you need to disable the secure easy setup from the settings. For this purpose, you can open the settings, scroll down to the wireless tab, navigate to the advanced wireless settings. Then, just click on secure easy setup and disable it.
3. Static IP Address
When the router is unable to assign the IP address to the device, it will result in the orange light issue on the Linksys router. With this being said, you need to assign the correct static IP address to the connected devices. This is because the public IP address is highly likely to fix the issue. So, connect your device to the router and assign the static IP address.
4. Reset
If nothing else is working out the orange light issue on the Linksys router, we suggest that you reset the router. For resetting the router, you need to press the reset button on the route for around thirty seconds. Once the router is reset, take out the power cord and wait for around ten seconds. After ten seconds, just insert the power cord again and you will be able to fix the orange light issue.
5. Firmware
You can always try upgrading and updating the firmware of your Linksys router to fix the errors. In this case, you need to login into the router account by entering the IP address and the available firmware will be available in the dashboard. However, you can also check for the firmware update in the administration tab. Once the update starts downloading and installing, make sure you don’t cancel or pause it. After the update, the router is likely to reboot but it will switch on with zero light issues!
