RCA TVs has been famous as the leader in the electronics industry. The company has been operating since 1919, which means they are experienced TV manufacturer. The issues like RCA TV won’t turn on red light is a common issue. So, with this article, we are sharing the troubleshooting methods for helping you switch on the RCA TV!
RCA TV Won’t Turn On, Red Light
1) Use Power Button
It’s common that people use remote controls for switching on the RCA TV. However, if the remote is not working properly, the TV won’t switch on. That being said, why don’t you try switching on the RCA TV with the power button of your TV? If the TV switches on with the direct power button, it’s obviously an issue with the remote control.
For this reason, we suggest that you change the remote. However, before changing the remote, it’s best to replace the batteries in the remote. If you’ve recently changed the batteries, there are higher chances that the remote is not working and needs a replacement.
2) Cables
The RCA TV has to be properly connected to the power cable to ensure it switches on and works properly. Firstly, you have to make sure that the power cable is properly and tightly secured into the power outlet. Also, the cable must be connected properly at the back of the RCA TV. In addition to the cable outlet, you have to check the cables’ conditions as well.
For instance, if the cables are too old, there are chances of internal burning or damages that result in the cables. These damages can hinder the transmission of electric signals, and that might be the reason why RCA TV is not switching on. Also, look for exterior damages, such as scratches. In either case, just replace the cables, and the RCA TV will start working fine.
3) Power Outlet
In case changing the cables didn’t resolve your switching-on issue, it is highly likely that the power outlet is malfunctioning. In case the power outlet is the fault, it won’t send the electrical signals, which will hinder the functionality of your TV. So, we suggest that you try using the RCA TV with another power outlet and make sure you are using the functional power outlet.
4) Heated TV
When the RCA TV gets too heated up, it will result in functionality issues. Even more, in excessive heating, RCA TV will not even switch on. For this reason, we suggest that you keep the TV switched off for some time and let it cool down. Once the TV is cooled down (you can place a hand on the back to check the temperature), try switching it on.
However, when you switch on the RCA TV, we suggest that you place the TV in a well-ventilated area. This is because the well-ventilated area will keep the TV cool, and it won’t heat up.
5) Overcharged Capacitor
The capacitors are responsible for providing power to the RCA TV. In some cases, these capacitors can result in responsiveness issues. When the TV is switched on for a long time, the capacitor will overcharge and won’t even release power and signals to the RCA TV. If you are suspecting an issue with overcharged capacitors, you have to perform a power cycle.
For this purpose, you have to keep the power plug out and press the power button for at least thirty seconds. These thirty seconds will ensure that the built-up charge in the capacitors is released. That being said, just plug in the power cable, and the TV will switch on.
6) Parental Control
When it comes down to the RCA TV, parental control is known as the front panel lock. In case this feature is switched on, you won’t be able to switch on the TV if you don’t have the remote control. So, if the RCA TV won’t switch on, there are chances that the front panel lock is enabled. To switch on the RCA TV, you have to remove the power cable and insert it after a few minutes, and the TV will switch on.
If you have tried all the troubleshooting methods, but the RCA TV still won’t switch on, you need professional help. For this purpose, you have to call the RCA customer support, and they will help you with the solutions.
