Netgear Powerline 1000 Lights Meaning
When it comes down to Netgear Powerline 1000, it is designed with various lights to help users keep an eye on the network status. So, in this section, we are sharing what different lights and their colors mean;
1. Power LED
As the name suggests, this LED shows information about the power status of the powerline adapter;
- Green – when the power LED is solid green, it simply means that the adapter is switched on, but if the light is blinking green, it means that the adapter is starting up or is working on the security settings
- Amber – when the power LED has an amber color, it means that your adapter is working in the power-saving mode. In most cases, the amber light turns on when the Ethernet port hasn’t been connected for ten minutes
- Off – the off power LED means that the adapter has been turned off
2. Powerline LED
The powerline LED shows information about the powerline connectivity, which indicates the network connectivity.
- Solid – the solid powerline LED means that the adapter is successfully connected to the powerline network
- Blinking – the blinking light means that the adapter is trying to send or receive the data
- Off – it means that the powerline adapter couldn’t find compatible devices to connect with
On the other hand, the green line means a link rate of more than 80Mbps while the amber light means a link rate of more than 50 but less than 80Mbps. On the contrary, the red light means that the link rate is less than 50Mbps.
3. Ethernet LED
As the name suggests, the Ethernet LED shows the status of the Ethernet connection and it has three statuses, including;
- Solid – it means that the Ethernet port is connected/linked but doesn’t have any activity
- Blinking – it means that there is some traffic on the Ethernet port (it’s working)
- Off – it simply means that the Ethernet connection is off or it could mean that the Ethernet connection has been disabled through powerline utility
4. Factory Reset
The factory reset button is used to revert the powerline adapter to factory default settings. This button is simply pressed for a second to bring back the factory settings.
The powerline adapters are designed with three LED indicators to help you determine the performance and connectivity status of the powerline adapter. In simpler words, you will be able to see when the powerline adapter is connected to the Ethernet connection. On the other hand, if there is some connectivity error, rebooting the powerline adapter and connecting it to a new power outlet might help.
