Linksys is making some of the most reliable modems and routers out there in the market. In addition to this equipment being top-rated in terms of performance and durability, you can rely on them as they will never cease to work, except in some highly random instances.
These instances are truly occasional and you will never have to face any sort of problem most of the time. However, if it stops working at random, then you need to know the basic troubleshooting steps to make it work.
Linksys E2500 Not Working
1) Check the Connection
The first thing that you should be checking on the router if it stops working is the connection. If there is some sort of short circuit on the power cord or some other cable then it can stop your router from working. So, you should check on all the connections and the cables that are attached to the router and make sure that they are in perfect health.
2) Check Power Socket
You will also need to check on the power socket and make sure that it is working fine. The better and recommended way to sort it out is to ensure that you are connecting the router to a power socket that has no switches attached to it. This way, you will never have to worry about a single thing and your router will be connected at all times.
Another way you can possibly try out is to use some other appliance on the same electric socket to check if the socket is fine. If it is not working, then you will have to fix the power socket first. However, if you find that the power socket is fine, then you should continue with the troubleshooting and try out these steps.
3) Run a power cycle
Another thing to possibly figure out a way from such issues is to run a power cycle on your router. There are several errors, bugs, and other problems that can cause your router to not work and you should simply turn off the router and then pull out the power cord. Afterward, you should plug the power cord back in after 10 seconds or so and that will be the perfect thing that you can do to make it work. This is optimally going to fix all the temporary errors and issues on your router.
4) Get it Checked
The last thing that you should do if nothing so far has worked out for you is to check the router with the support center by the Linksys technicians. Like all the other technological innovations, there is room for error for these routers as well and they might fail at times. So, a technician will be able to properly diagnose if there is something wrong with the router and also find out the best possible solution for you. You might be able to get away with a simple replacement of parts, or you will have to get the whole router replaced.
